Bagpipers Wanted! The Celtic Highland Games is looking for a few good pipe bands to serve as paid performers during the 11th annual Celtic Highland Games of the Quad Cities in Davenport, Iowa. The solo, pipe band and drumming competitions are taking a break this year, but we hope to bring them back in 2010. In the meantime, we're still committed to bringing our guests the stirring sounds of pipe and drums - and a big taste of the culture of the Highlands. To indicate your interest in being hired as a band, please send details to J. Baas, at jenniebaas@aol.com or 309-721-3532 about the - Your band grade Participating bands will play in the noon Tartan Parade of Clans, on sites around at the grounds on a schedule to be arranged, and against each other in an exhibition Battle of the Bands. Feel free to bring your best piece and show off a bit!
