Find out about the proud Celtic heritage by visiting the colorful tents and exhibits on Clan Row, our gathering place for Celtic societies.

Clan Row is the ideal place to research your family roots, learn more about the tribes’ fascinating history, or obtain membership information from Celtic societies. Don’t forget to catch the colorful parade of tartans, which recreates an old ritual of respect and allegiance. Everyone with a connection to a clan or association is invited to march in the parade under its banner.

You’ll also find more information and genealogy tips in the Education area. You’re invited to attend special workshops on Celtic language, customs, music and dance, or see special exhibits of Celtic animals. And at various times throughout the day, look for exciting Irish, Scottish, and other Celtic dance performances.

Are you a member of a Clan or Celtic Society? Join us for the parade of tartans and compete in the “Best Tent” contest on Clan Row. Our games are centrally located in Davenport, Iowa, right on the Iowa/Illinois border near the great Mississippi River. As this is an Iowa - Illinois event, clans and families from both states are welcome to participate. (In some cases, your Illinois representative may be closer to the Quad Cities.)

Clans and heritage societies will receive a free 12 x 12 space to erect their own tents. Entrants will pay the gate fee or purchase a Games Souvenir T-shirt in advance (which includes admission). Paper tickets are also available. Tent spaces are assigned and must be reserved in advance. Tables ($10 each) are available from the GAMES staff at the fairgrounds. If possible, please reserve and pay for tables in advance using the form on this Web site..

Because of insurance provisions, no pets are allowed on the fairgrounds, with the exception of registered participants in specific animal events or guide and service dogs. Animal events will be in a separate restricted area.

For details about selling goods, please see item 5 in the privilege restrictions area under the Vendor Rules in the Vendors section of this website. In general, merchandise of this type shall be limited to Clan and Society-related goods.

Note: Registration and competition for many events starts BEFORE 9 a.m.  Check with your contest coordinator or event page for specific start times.
